Tell me a little more about yourself
Julie Styve & Cynthia Hogan, the Charmed 33 Gals, own Charmed 33 Boutique located in historic downtown Erie, Colorado.
Julie grew up in Iowa and later moved to Kansas before making her way to Colorado. She pursued a career in cosmetology as a hairstylist as well as dipping her toe in the restaurant business. She and her husband, Brad, moved to Colorado in 2005 and later settled in Erie.
Cynthia was born in California, raised in Alaska and attended college in Missouri before finding her way to the Colorado mountains... the mountains were calling! She and her husband Kris moved to Erie after an opportunity to make a job transfer. Cynthia initially started her business Rocky Mountain Love in 2016 and then shortly after created Erie Love Co. She had always wanted to open a boutique and after meeting Julie... the wheels were set in motion.
Tell me about your business:
Julie initially opened Charmed 33 Boutique in 2017 right on Briggs Street in downtown Erie. 2 years ago this month, Charmed 33 had an opportunity to move into a new and improved space just around the corner. They are now located right next door to Fox Dog Coffee - perfect for grabbing a delicious coffee & shop 'til you drop!
Charmed 33 strives to offer a fun shopping experience for all. They are now an all-inclusive boutique carrying sizes small to 3x. They carry unique clothing and gift items to make the shopping and gift-giving experience special for everyone. They feature local makers & artists whenever they can. Julie & Cynthia believe Colorado has the most amazing artisans and are happy to support and showcase them!
Julie & Cynthia love our town and offer a 10% discount to all Erie employees. Come by and see what all the buzz is about!
What do you love about having your business in Erie?
Julie said, "The social aspect of running a boutique and getting to know women from the area. I really love being a part of the community and seeing what people resonate with. We have some of the most supportive and loyal customers."
Cynthia said, "100% the social aspect. My nickname was social butterfly years ago - I always want to be interacting and socializing. The boutique has turned into a “salon chair” and people come in and chat and become regulars. I love that the people of Erie see it as a safe place to come vent and chat. "
Erie is a really supportive town for small businesses and we feel very lucky to have our business here. With our new space, we also have an amazing landlord that has done so much for us.
